Caregiving for a loved one with dementia is a journey that can feel isolating and overwhelming, especially for families in underserved communities. Caregivers give so much of themselves every day, often with little time or resources to focus on their own well-being.
That’s why we’re extending our virtual support groups with monthly in-person events at The Caregiver Sanctuary. These gatherings will provide caregivers with a much-needed space to:
Unwind and Relax: Take a break and enjoy a moment of calm.
Build Community: Connect with others who truly understand their journey.
Feel Supported: Participate in activities that foster joy and renewal.
When we applied for a grant to fund these events, the feedback we received reflected a misunderstanding of caregivers’ needs:
"This project could be really successful if it was made to be more specific to the community/specific facility instead of addressing the macro-level issues with micro-level interventions."
Here’s the truth: These gatherings are focused on the community. Caregiving is deeply personal, and creating safe, local spaces for connection and relaxation is the foundation for meaningful change.
This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising $15,000 to fund these in-person gatherings in 2024. Your donation will help us host monthly events where caregivers can step away from the daily challenges of caregiving, build relationships, and find joy.
Here’s how you can make an impact:
Donate today to support family caregivers in your community.
Share our campaign to help us reach others who care about making a difference.
By starting small, we can inspire change that grows beyond our community. These gatherings are more than events—they’re a lifeline for caregivers who feel invisible, overwhelmed, and alone.
Thank you for joining us this Giving Tuesday. Together, we can create spaces where caregivers feel seen, valued, and supported.
P.S. Every dollar helps bring caregivers together for moments of joy and connection. Donate now to make an impact.
